POSITION: General Manager, Isle Vista Casino
LOCATION: Isle Vista Casino
SALARY: Negotiable
JOB SUMMARY: General Manager is responsible for the overall operation and accountability for the performance of all casino operations. The General Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities in the area of management policy, internal control reviews, records management, financial management, personal management and administrative services. General Manager is responsible to the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Tribal Council or their designee.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Understand, interpret and implement laws, rules and regulations applicable to Indian gaming operations.
Ø Responsible for the negotiations and execution of contracts on behalf of the casino.
Ø Ensure compliance with Internal Control Standards and the Red Cliff Tribal Gaming Ordinances and any other rules and policies as established by the Red Cliff Tribal Council, State of Wisconsin Gaming Compact and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Ø Supervises, directs and participates in the growth and development of all Department heads in the performance of their duties.
Ø Assumes responsibility for business operations including the profit and loss of all departments.
Ø Directs marketing objectives to maintain and improve clientele.
Ø Effective communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to interpret company policies to properly manage personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ø College background preferred but not required.
Ø Hospitality experience highly desired.
Ø Prefer 5 years experience managing a casino conducting gaming activities classified by the National Indian Gaming Commission as Classes I, II and III.
Ø Must apply for and maintain a gaming license issued by the Red Cliff Gaming Commission and subject to the review of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Ø Applicant must demonstrate success with managing multiple departments, staff and operational functions within the gaming industry.
Ø Thorough knowledge of gaming industry philosophies, theories and standard practices.
Ø Motivational and leadership abilities with an overall knowledge of the importance of unbiased customer and community relations.
Ø Must provide 4 (four) employment references.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office is located at the Isle Vista Casino in Red Cliff, WI. The Casino is not a smoke free building.
