The Red Cliff Band is the sovereign government of the Red Cliff Tribal Membership. It operates under a ratified Constitution with a Tribal Council government and a Tribal Court. Services are provided under the Tribal Council and through each Division Administrator. Laws are enacted by Tribal Council. Red Cliff Tribal Courts are open to every person or entity within the jurisdiction of the Red Cliff Band unless specifically limited by statute. Red Cliff's Tribal Court handles civil, criminal and juvenile matters, hears cases of appeals and other matters, as may be conferred by statute.

The positions of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and At Large members are elected by the citizens of the Red Cliff Band and serve two-year terms. Tribal Court judges are confirmed by the Tribal Council.
