Four More Cases Confirmed in Red Cliff Community
September 3, 2020
The Red Cliff Community Health Center today confirmed four more positive cases of COVID-19 in the Red Cliff community. The positive cases are traced to a gathering off the reservation over the past weekend. The contact tracing as a result is extensive and the close contacts are being notified. Due to the rapid increase and unknown extent of illness in the community, the Medical Director and Public Health are recommending an immediate closure of non-essential businesses within Red Cliff reservation boundaries.
Red Cliff Community Health Center, Bayfield and Ashland County Health Departments, along with medical staff are partnering together to keep track of this outbreak. We are in daily contact with the affected individuals to monitor their symptoms and ensure they are receiving support during isolation.
The Red Cliff Community Health Center wants everyone to know that people should follow simple steps to avoid getting sick, including:
- Frequent and thorough handwashing with soap and water
- Cover coughs and sneezes
- Avoid touching your face
- Stay home when sick
- Practice social distancing
- Avoid large public gatherings and crowds
- Wear a facemask in public areas
