Red Cliff Receives COVID-19 Vaccine
Healthcare workers first to be vaccinated

December 15, 2020 – The Red Cliff Community Health Center has received its first shipment of Pfizer’s COVID-19 Vaccine. The Health Center has begun vaccination of Healthcare Workers (HCW).

Who gets the vaccine?
Priority of vaccine distribution has been divided into three tiers:
Tier 1 – Healthcare workers; Physicians, Nurses, EMS, EMT, PD, critical infrastructure personnel.
Tier 2 – Elders 55 and older, General public with underlying conditions, essential employees.
Tier 3 – General public ages *18-54.
*A COVID-19 vaccine is not yet available for ages under 18.

When will I get my vaccine?
The Health Center is currently vaccinating Tier 1.
The Health Center staff in conjunction with Indian Health Service is working overtime to acquire, distribute and administer the vaccine when it becomes available.  The Health Center will reach out to all registered patients when the vaccine becomes available to schedule times.

Vaccination for Tier 2 and Tier 3 could begin as early as the week of December 21. However, that date depends on vaccine shipment and availability. Notice will be given once vaccines are available for Tier 2 and Tier 3.

About The Vaccines
Pfizer vaccine
First to be approved for use in the United States by the FDA.
Shipments began the week of December 13, 2020.
Patients receive 2-shots three weeks apart.

Moderna vaccine
Seeking FDA approval December 17, 2020.
Shipments expected to begin the week of December 20, 2020.
Patients receive 2-shots four weeks apart.
