Election Information

Gaa-Miskwaabikaang - the Red Cliff Reservation - is governed by an elected nine-member Tribal Council. This Tribal Council consists of a Tribal Chairperson, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and five At Large Members. Tribal Council elections occur annually in May and July, and are staggered so the entire council cannot be replaced simultaneously. Each council member serves a two-year term. On odd years there is an election for Chairperson, Treasurer, and three At Large seats. On even years there is an election for Vice Chair, Secretary, and two At Large seats.

Polls are open 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
» May 3, 2024 Primary Election. All voting will occur at Legendary Waters Resort & Casino.
» July 2, 2024 General Election. All voting will occur at Legendary Waters Resort & Casino.
A Red Cliff Tribal ID is required to receive and submit a ballot in both the Primary and General elections.

Important Dates
Friday March 29, 2024 - Deadline to apply to serve on Election Board
Wednesday April 3, 2024 - Deadline for candidates for Vice-Chair and Secretary
Friday May 3, 2024 - Primary Election
Monday June 17, 2024 - Deadline for At-Large candidates to announce candidacy. (2 seats open)
Tuesday July 2, 2024 - General Election

May 3, 2024 Primary Election
All voting will occur at Legendary Waters Resort & Casino. Polls open 8 AM - 8 PM.
