What is the American Rescue Plan / American Rescue Plan Funding?
The American Rescue Plan concentrates on recovery from the economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing recession. The American Rescue Plan includes a relief fund for Tribal Governments, and the Red Cliff Band will receive portions of that funding. The Red Cliff Band must spend the funds on eligible activities by December 31, 2024. The funds cannot be spent on anything other than the eligible activities identified in the American Rescue Plan.
Eligible Activities
» Activities that respond to the public health emergency caused by COVID-19 or its negative economic impacts. This includes assistance to households, small businesses, and nonprofits. This also includes aid to impacted industries such as tourism, travel, and hospitality.
» Activities that respond to workers performing essential work during the COVID-19 public health emergency by providing premium pay to eligible workers of the Tribal Government that are performing such essential work. Grants can also be provided to eligible employers that have eligible workers who perform essential work.
» Government services - only to the extent of the reduction in revenue from those services due to the public health emergency.
» Necessary investments in water, sewer, or broadband infrastructure.
